Pension Notes No 88 – The role of digital tools designed to help workers clearly and personally visualize their pension situation

Today, digital tools exist to clearly and personally visualize an individual’s pension situation. These tools are internationally known as “individual pension dashboards” (hereinafter referred to as “pension dashboards”). Specifically, these dashboards are digital platforms that consolidate information on retirement savings from public pillars (contributory or non-contributory), occupational pillars (linked to employment), and personal pillars (mandatory or voluntary), enabling users to view balances, project future income, and, in some cases, actively manage their accounts. The accessible and real-time visualization provided by these dashboards allows workers to better understand their current and future retirement status, fostering improved savings planning and informed decisions to ensure a more secure and stable retirement.

This document analyzes six exemplary dashboards: Denmark (PensionsInfo), Sweden (MinPension), Belgium (Mypension.be), United Kingdom (Pensions Dashboard), Chile (Pension Simulator), and Mexico (AforeMóvil), highlighting their role in promoting and facilitating a greater understanding of personal pension situations and encouraging proactive management of retirement savings.
