COVID-19 has acted as a catalyst for three technologies that were being gradually adopted until just a few months ago: telework, digital on-demand work platforms and online training. This is evident in the increase in the number of app downloads related to these activities.

This note discusses the implications of increased use of such applications and highlights the main opportunities and challenges faced by countries in the region to expand these modalities of work and training to facilitate the reconstruction of labor markets.
