This document is a compilation of all the individual papers prepared by the different Working Groups and professionals, analyzed and discussed in depth in preparatory sessions and at the II Oxford/Fide Congress in 2022 at Jesus College (Oxford), and finalized for publication. In line with the objectives of the Congress, this document articulates a set of conclusions and recommendations to be disseminated among decision makers, organizations, industry leaders and experts with a view to their consideration by the competent authorities.
The Record is presented as a complete document with a presentation by the president of Fide, Cristina Jiménez, an overview of the working groups and a call to action from the EU covering the themes and recommendations of the Congress. The documents included in the Register cover issues of the economy, inequality, the future of the EU project, the COVID-19 pandemic, and constitutional, legal and governance issues, in the context of nationalism. It also covers aspects of the impact of nationalist/populist policies on the funding of South American pension plans, where there have been unexpected calls for pension funds to deal with the effects of COVID-19, as well as other cross-cutting issues (fund policies refugee outsourcing from the EU, climate change issues (with specific reference to the outcome of the Conference of the Parties (COP) on 26 November 2021 in Glasgow), and misinformation and freedom of expression in modern democratic societies.
This document is published as a result of the dedication and hard work of all the congressmen, leaders and participants of working groups, congress directors and the strategic advice of the International Academic Council of Fide.
