The International Federation of Pension Fund Administrators (FIAP) and the Chilean Association of AFPs, in conjunction with ICARE, a private, independent non-profit corporation, whose purpose is the promotion of business excellence in the country, are organizing the seminar “Investment in a world of low returns,” which will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 in Casapiedra, Santiago, Chile.

This seminar examines in greater depth the issues associated with the challenge of long-term investment in a low interest rate environment, and particularly examines the role played by alternative investments in this context. The main purpose of the seminar is to promote a broad-minded discussion on the challenges of the pension system, from the investment standpoint, providing the technical input of different world and Latin American specialists to address a key challenge, namely the improvement of long-term returns and pensions, and enhancing the functioning of the capital market and the pension system.

Some 500 professionals related to the pensions and investments sphere, regulators and academics from Chile and other Latin American countries, are expected to attend.
