“News on initiatives that could impair the development of the individually-funded pension systems”

Case of Peru: Initiative presented by the Congressional Economic Committee, to withdraw 95.5% of pension savings upon retirement.

The President of FIAP, Guillermo Arthur, together with Alejandro Ferreiro, former Minister of Economy (Chile), and Sergio Urzúa, Economist, Professor of the University of Maryland (USA)were invited to participate in the Forum “Reforms of the Pension System: Experiences and Lessons Learnt,” organized by the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions of Peru (CONFIEP) and the School of Management of  Universidad de Piura –  PAD of Peru, and held on the morning of December 01, in Lima, Peru.

The President of FIAP, along with two other academics, participated in the Forum and also carried out an intense agenda, which included interviews with several communications media. In the afternoon of that same day, they also met with the Economic Committee in the Peruvian Congress, engaging in a discussion in which they had the opportunity of stating their points of view on the issues raised, regarding both national and international matters.
