FIAP’s President attended the 4th National AFORES Convention, referring to pending reforms and the challenges of pension systems in Latin America

At the 4th National AFORES Convention, last October 9, FIAP’s President, Guillermo Arthur, participated in the panel “Pending reforms to pension systems in Latin America: Experiences of the Pension Fund Managers,” where he presented his point of view regarding the unfeasibility of PAYGO systems; the positive impact of individually funded systems on workers, employers and countries; the reasons explaining the gap between pension expectations and the pensions that individually funded systems can really pay; and the key aspects that any suitable reform of the pension systems of the region should consider, among other matters.

FIAP’s President shared his opinion with the Chairman of the Association of Pension Fund Mangers of Peru (AAFP), Giovanna Prialé.
