FIAP publishes new book “Reinforcing the Foundations of the Individually-Funded Pension System to Ensure its Sustainability”

The International Federation of Pension Fund Administrators (FIAP) has just publish and edited the Spanish and English versions of the book “Reinforcing the Foundations of the Individually-Funded Pension System to Ensure its Sustainability”, which compiles the papers presented by authorities and renowned local and international speakers in the twelfth version of the FIAP international seminar of the same name (which also coincided with the with the celebration of the 1st International Conference of the Peruvian Association of Private Pension Funds Administrators (AAFP)), held on May 15 and 16 2014, in Cusco, Peru.

This book, the thirteenth one published by FIAP in the same format, will provide the reader with several papers, which based on the principles of economic freedom and individual savings, identify the mechanisms that enable underpinning the foundations of the sustainability of the individually-funded pension system.

The book is organized into seven parts:

1. Expanding coverage and promoting pension savings.

2. Yield and risk management.

3. Efficiency, competition and administration costs.

4. The type and quality of pensions in the Individually-Funded Systems.

5. Corporate governance, transparency and relationships with members and pensioners.

6. Coexistence of alternative contributory pension systems.

7. Conclusions and recommendations.

FIAP thanks all the authors for drawing up and reviewing their respective articles. We hope that the book will contribute to clarity regarding the mechanisms to strengthen the key pillars of the individually-funded pension systems, which enable them being sustainable over time.
