The International Federation of Pension Fund Administrators (FIAP), together with the Brazilian Association of Pension Funds (ABRAPP), are pleased to invite you to register as an attendee for the FIAP-ABRAPP International Seminar, entitled “Trends in pension systems worldwide”. The meeting will take place on October 3 and 4, 2024, at the Windsor Oceánico hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The main objectives of the seminar are to review the evolution of pension systems in light of demographic trends, labor markets and public pension policies, as well as to analyze the various existing mechanisms to universalize social protection, particularly pension savings, which requires appropriate public policy options (such as contributions through consumption, incentives for pension savings through the use of behavioral economics, automatic enrollment in pension plans, use of retirement bonds issued by the State, among others). In addition, emphasis will be placed on finding solutions to strengthen the labor market, so that through greater formality, better pensions for workers can be achieved. Likewise, ways to improve the risk/return profile of pension fund investments will be explored. Finally, the political and social situation in Latin America and its relationship with the pension reforms currently being discussed will also be analyzed.

This Seminar coincides with the XXVII FIAP Annual Assembly. As on previous occasions, we will have international experts who will present their experience and knowledge on different topics of interest, and there will be participants from different regions of the world (FIAP members and others), including government authorities, parliamentarians, officials from international organizations, representatives of pension fund administrators, mutual funds and insurance companies, and other personalities related to the financial and social security field.
