According to the President of the Colombian AFP Association, the public debate has become highly ideological in Chile

Santiago Montenegro, comments that the idea of withdrawing funds during the pandemic also arose in Colombia, but it did not prosper, and even the unions opposed it. He believes that in Chile it was different because this type of discussion is highly politicized.

“What I would say is: follow the recommendations of the last Bravo Commission, or do another Commission, but do not make hasty decisions,” declared Montenegro about the discussion that is taking place today in Chile to change the pension system.
