The 2019 Transatlantic Conference will be held from June 19 to 21, 2019, at the Sagamore Resort in the Adirondack Mountains of the State of New York, USA. Likewise, the World Pension Alliance (WPA) Seminar will be held on one of those days (between June 19 and 21), to be duly confirmed in the next couple of weeks.

The 2019 Transatlantic Conference will bring together the leading experts in pensions and health benefits, as well as trustees and pension plan professionals from around the world, to share their knowledge and experience. Two days of the conference will the dedicated to matters of global interest in the pensions and medical care spheres, including:

• Greater global focus on ESG and “green” factors in investment selection and assessment.
• Pension solvency metrics, pension management tools and worldwide pensions backup.
• Innovations in the design of shared risk plans.
• Mental health in the workplace, including the opioid epidemic.
• Approaches to medical marijuana with a particular focus on the legal changes observed in the United States and Canada, and
• A case study of Finland regarding the effectiveness of its holistic approach to disability.

The last morning of the conference will be dedicated to the state of labor/management relations and worldwide negotiations, including the challenges involved in addressing new forms of employment and worker mobility.
