Parametric Reforms in the Public PAYGO Pension Programs

The purpose of these documents is to make an approximate assessment of the major parametric reforms approved or implemented in the last years, in countries with unreformed PAYGO systems and countries with PAYGO programs complemented by individually-funded programs.

The initial point of reference of these documents is a study by the World Bank that sets out the main parametric reforms adopted or approved between 1995 and 2005. Subsequently, through consultations with various sources of information on the reforms of social security systems worldwide (U.S. Social Security Administration, international consultants such as Mercer, AON Hewitt and other agencies, and specialized media in pension and social security matters), FIAP completed the assessment for the corresponding period.
